Lubricants are essential additives in PVC processing. In a formula, both internal and external lubricants should generally be used together. In the PVC system, it can be pre plasticized, reduce later torque, improve the dispersion of colorants, give products good luster, and better improve production efficiency.

An appropriate amount of lubricant can improve the fluidity of PVC melt, improve production efficiency, and prevent PVC degradation caused by friction heat generation, thereby improving the appearance quality of products. The amount of lubricant used varies depending on the processing method.
More internal lubrication, good fluidity, and shorter plasticizing time, but excess internal lubrication will transform into external lubrication effect, causing precipitation, such as precipitation and scaling caused by stearic acid and calcium stearate;

More external lubrication leads to poorer and slower plasticization, as it has poor compatibility with PVC and can cause serious precipitation after adding more;

The influence of small molecule substances in lubricants, for example, monoglyceride, is a good internal lubricant. However, due to the fact that manufacturers add excessive amounts of glycerol to reduce costs during the production process, monoglyceride contains a lot of glycerol components, and the amount of glycerol is low, which is easy to precipitate during PVC processing. In fact, the correct amount of monoglyceride added will not cause precipitation, Monoglyceride is also an antifogging agent and droplet agent in thin film materials.
Of course, internal and external lubrication should not be too little, and it is important to balance internal and external lubrication. Insufficient internal lubrication, poor fluidity, prolonged plasticization time, and high torque. Insufficient external lubrication can cause fluid to become sticky, resulting in insufficient paste or glossiness.

A complete lubrication system=external lubricant+external/internal lubricant+internal lubricant;
The simpler the composition of the lubrication system, the better. The more components there are, the more problems and side effects may occur;
The amount of internal sliding agent added should be more than that of external sliding agent to have an effect;
Adding internal sliding agents is beneficial for improving physical properties and reducing precipitation to a certain extent;
The synergistic use of esters and waxes increases lubrication effect. It can reduce the total amount of addition while reducing precipitation.
