EBS (Ethylene bis-stearamide) is an excellent plastic lubricant, widely used in the molding and processing of PVC, ABS, PS, PA, EVA, polyolefin and other plastic and rubber products, which can effectively improve the fluidity and demoulding of products, thus increasing the output, reducing energy consumption, and making the surface of products have high smoothness and smoothness.
How EBS works
(1) Internal lubricant: Because of the existence of polar amide group in EBS molecule, it has the processing lubrication and low temperature anti-sticking effect on polymer resin. EBS can be inserted into the polymer resin to reduce the interaction between resin molecules.
(2) External lubricant: EBS has limited compatibility with resin, which can be pulled from the inside of the resin to the surface, reducing the mutual friction between resin particles, resin melt and processing equipment, preventing it from adhering to the metal surface and playing an external lubrication role.

EBS is used as a lubricating film remover in plastic processing, which can improve the quality and appearance of plastic products.
Ethylene bisstearate amide (EBS) was added to natural rubber (NR) as silica dispersant to study its application in natural rubber. The results showed that after adding EBS, the mixing power consumption and Mooney viscosity of the compound decreased, and the processing performance improved; The scorching time (t10) of the rubber compound is increased, and the positive curing time (t90) of the process is reduced, and the curing characteristics are improved; The Payne effect decreases, and the dispersion of silica in the rubber compound is also improved, which improves the mechanical properties; When the amount of EBS is 2 phr, the comprehensive properties of NR compound are the best; Compared with the rubber compound added with commercial dispersant BA, the rubber compound added with EBS has higher processing safety and mechanical properties, and is more environmentally friendly.

Application of EBS in rubber processing
EBS can be used as lubricant, anti-sticking agent, release agent, filler surface modifier and surface treatment agent of hard rubber in rubber processing. Its outstanding performance is to improve the surface gloss of rubber plate, rubber tube and other products, and play the role of surface brightener. Synthetic rubber, such as SBR, has good anti-sticking and anti-caking effects by adding 1~3% EBS into its emulsion; EBS is applied to rubber products such as floor mats and drainage pipes for automobiles to increase the surface gloss.
Application of EBS in pigments and fillers
EBS is used as dispersant in pigments and fillers: EBS is used as dispersant in plastic (chemical fiber) masterbatches (such as ABS, PS, polypropylene, polyester masterbatches), which can improve the dispersion and addition of pigments and fillers, improve processing efficiency, and improve the brightness and brightness of color masterbatches; EBS can also be used as diffusion powder for plastic color matching. The addition amount is 0.5~5%.

Application of EBS in paints and inks
Adding 0.5~2% EBS during coating and paint manufacturing can improve the effect of salt spray and moisture prevention; Adding this product to the paint can improve the uniform dispersion of pigments and fillers, improve the surface leveling of drying paint, prevent paint peeling, and improve water resistance, acid and alkali resistance. It can also play the role of extinction in nitrocellulose paint. It can be used as matting agent in furniture polishing agent and printing ink.
