1. Good matting property
When applied in matting coatings, the amount of silicon dioxide used within the same range has an effective matting effect. The size of the extinction effect depends on the particle size of the dispersed PE wax and its ability to migrate to the surface of the paint film.
As a matting agent, its outstanding advantages include excellent transparency, smoothness, soft appearance, chemical inertness, non precipitation, scratch resistance, wear resistance, and stain resistance.

2. Anti scratch, anti wear, anti polishing, anti engraving
One factor that has high resistance to friction and scratches is the reduction of the friction coefficient of the coating surface, so that when objects come into contact with the coating surface, the sliding tendency is greater than the scratch tendency. In this regard, the effect of polyethylene wax is similar to that of silicone oil, but the difference is that the former exists on the coating surface in the form of small dispersed particles. To achieve scratch resistance, only a small amount is required, and scratch resistance is particularly important for high-end wood paint and other decorative coatings. Polyethylene wax, added to coatings, can greatly reduce the tendency to be polished due to friction, while maintaining low gloss durability, which is often necessary in applications.

In alkyd varnish, when the amount of polyethylene wax is 1.5%, the anti wear value of the coating film is doubled, but when the amount is 3%, the anti wear value is increased by 5 times. When metal objects come into contact with coated products, they sometimes leave black marks on the coating film. Adding polyethylene to the film can reduce this tendency or make the marks easy to wipe off.
